That’s how Xtreme Fighting Championships President Myron Molotky sums up Saturday’s tryout event at Scorpion Fighting System in Brighton, Mich.
Featuring more than 160 fighters from more than 10 states, Molotky praises the event’s architect, XFC Matchmaker Eduardo Duarte, for organizing what he calls “the best tryout event in MMA history.”
“The event ran perfectly,” Molotky adds. “We’re thrilled that 164 fighters got the opportunity to showcase their skills and audition for an international fighting promotion, and many rose to the occasion.”
More than 30 fighters received a callback. But Saturday’s superstar was undoubtedly Kenny “The Boss” Cross, who attended the tryouts to show support to its participants and to ceremonially sign his exclusive, long-term contract with XFC.
“The Boss” is Michigan’s most popular and exciting fighter. The reigning Lights Out Championships titlist boasts an impressive record of 11-3 on the strength of five straight wins, most recently a dominant victory on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in Las Vegas. His first match under the XFC banner will be a XFC Lightweight Championship Tournament bout on Nov. 11 in Atlanta, LIVE on NBC Sports Network.
“Kenny has all the makings of an international star in the fight game, and we couldn’t be prouder to sign him to an exclusive, long-term contract,” Molotky says. “He’s always looking for the finish, he’s got an engaging personality, and soon he’s going to be a household name.”
