MIAMI, FLORIDA, Dec. 16, 2021 – Mando “El Toro” Gutierrez made quite a statement in his Hexagon debut.
The hard-hitting Michigan fighter improved to 6-1 with a super-impressive, first-round submission victory over Chaka Worthy at YoungGuns 4 on the weekend at The DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids, MI, LIVE on FOX Sports 2.
That’s now two straight wins for Gutierrez.
“It feels great to be back on a win streak, but this is no time to be complacent,” he says. “I have to keep working and keep getting better to keep raking up the wins.”
Gutierrez remains his toughest critic, even in victory.
“I’d grade (my performance) a six or seven out of 10,” he offers.
“It was a quick finish, but I still have a lot of stuff that I haven’t gotten the chance to show under the bright lights yet. I’m glad that I was able to show some explosiveness and be a little more composed than normal, but there’s still tons of work to do.
“God willing, we’ll get there.”
