Mando Gutierrez Ready To Shine In Hexagon Debut

MIAMI, FLORIDA, Nov. 24, 2021 – Mando Gutierrez didn’t get to attend the first Xtreme Fighting Championships event in his native Michigan in August.

“El Toro” was living it up in Mexico while XFC 45 blew the lid off The DeltaPlex in Grand Rapids, MI. But Gutierrez will get to experience the heat of the world-famous Hexagon at YoungGuns 4 on Dec. 10 when the XFC returns to The DeltaPlex. He takes on Chaka Worthy in a bantamweight bout.

Some fighters would be nervous to compete on such a large platform in their own backyard in front of their friends and family, especially against such a game opponent. Gutierrez is not one of those fighters.

“I love every second of fighting at home,” he says. “I feel like you’re not just fighting me, you’re fighting all my people too. I get all this power and motivation from fighting at home. There’s something magical about fighting in front of my people. I love the whole process, and I can’t wait to do it again in Grand Rapids.”

“El Toro” is quick to keep things in perspective. Although he’s one five of his first six fights as a professional  and has big goals in the Hexagon, he’s not looking past his opponent, Chaka Worthy.

That being said, Gutierrez eyes his sixth victory on Dec. 10.

“I think he’ll do an all right job of sticking around in the first round, but my pressure is going to be too much for him. I’m coming right at him, and that’s not the way he likes to fight,” Gutierrez says.

“I’m going to break him.”
